MY FAMILY |

Father - Miro Drobnjak (picture coming soon!) My father was born on December 1, 1951 in a small town of Prijepolje. Prijepolje is located in southern Serbia, on the very border with Montenegro. Miro went to get his Bachelor's Degree in Economics at the University of Subotica, located at the northern tip of Serbia. While there he met my mother, Milanka. After graduating they moved to the city of Podgorica, located in the smaller of the two states making up Yugoslavia, Montenegro. He was a manager in a commercial branch of a local bank, "Titogradska Osnovna Banka", for a long time, until he got an offer to manage the local branch of a aggressive tech firm, "EI Nis". He was the managing director there for 4 years, until the whole mess started in Yugoslavia in 1990. While at "EI Nis", he introduced me for the first time to something I would fall in love with for the rest of my life, computers. Information Technology probably qualifies as my other passion, and my greatest hobby. In 1990, my father opened up his own company, "Swift", with two offices in the basement of our house. It started as a office material wholesaling firm, and shifted over years to a limited liability company wholesaling parts for the automobile industry. Today, "Swift", d.o.o. has DEM 500,000.00 in assets and operates on the entire territory of Montenegro. I will soon be working on a web site for the firm, and it is going to be located here. In conclusion I think that my father is the greatest man in the world, and my goal is to be just like him, if not even surpass him in some things if at all possible. He has always been an example of what a father should be. I thank him for that. Mother - Milanka Drobnjak (picture coming soon!) My mother was born on June 11, 1952 in a small town of Vrbas in northern Serbia. The town is located in an agricultural area without many mountains around, so it was a big change for her to come with my father and live in Montenegro. Her parents, thus my grandparents, are still in Vrbas and throughout my childhood it has always been a wonderful experience to go visit them. A train ride from Podgorica to Vrbas lasts about 10 hours and was always very boring. Anyway, she met my father while studying at the University of Subotica. My mother also got her Bachelor's Degree in Economics from there and came to Podgorica with my father after they were done. She got a job at a textile factory ("Titex") doing accounting and stayed there until 1990, when my father opened his firm, at which point she came and worked with him. She, and her friend Cana, are probably the most valuable assets of "Swift", d.o.o., because they take care of all accounting work. Without them two this firm would not survive for two days. My mom has always been there for me. She still is. The point that I am trying to get across here is that I could have never been who I am today without my mom and dad. I respect them two more than anyone else in the world. Sister - Ivana Drobnjak Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 Picture 5 Picture 6 Picture 7 Picture 8 Picture 9 Picture 10 Ivana was born on March 31, 1986. She was born in the Podgorica Hospital and I still remember the day when all us kids from my uncle's family, my brother and I were sitting around, eating lunch, and the phone rang. My aunt answered and a little after told us that Srdja and I got a little sister. We were all very excited. You can only guess who was a big influence when her name was decided upon. Today Ivana is attending 2nd grade of the Gymnasium (equivalent of 10th grade in the U.S. system) and is majoring in languages. She is growing fast and I cannot believe that we already have to start fighting the guys away. I just wish I was there, closer to her and my brother so that I could be a real older brother, helping them with little, every day stuff. Brother - Srdja Drobnjak Picture of Srdja and Naca (his girlfriend) here Srdja was born on May 30, 1981 in Podgorica. I don't quite remember the day he was born, but I am sure that me being two years old at the time had something to do with it. He graduated the Gymnasium (high school with a more strict curriculum that enables one to enter any field in college upon completion) in Podgorica and is currently finishing up an Associate's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Montenegro. Girls love him, and if you are browsing through his pictures right now - forget it! - he is taken. He should be done with college sometime early next year (2002). As of now he does not have any specific plans on what's next, but is intensively working on the issue. I am sure that he will make the right choice. Fiancé - Rylie Davin Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 Picture 5 Picture 6 Picture 7 Picture 8 Picture 9 Rylie was born on November 23, 1979 in Pennsylvania, USA. She lived there most of her childhood and when she was in high school, her parents moved to Alabama. Rylie has 6 sisters and 1 brother. We met during my attendance of Berea College. She came to school in Spring of '99, but she resisted my charms until next school year. It is a little hard right now with her still in Berea, and me in Ohio, but we seem to manage just fine. We try and see each other every weekend, but due to large volume of work on both of our backs, sometimes it doesn't work out. She is the most beautiful and wonderful girl in the world, and I feel so lucky to have her. She will be graduating from Berea in May of 2002 with a degree in Child Development. After that she plans to go back to school and get a degree in Accounting, which may prove to be more profitable than working at a day-care for the rest of her life. We'll see.
