The town of Vincent, Alabama is located about 30 miles southeast of Birmingham on US Highway 280. I came to Vincent in July of 1996 to complete my senior year of high school. It was quite a change. The town is rural, and there is not much to do. The closest place where things are happening is Birmingham, but like I said it was 30-40 minutes away. The town lives around its high school, Vincent High School, and its football, basketball and baseball teams. I listed the teams in order of importance to the community. As you may notice, track and field are not even up there. In other words, the community could care less if they didn't even have this sport. And at last, they are not even considering having a soccer team. There is some great people in the town of Vincent. Number one spot holds the Barnes family. You can find out more about them in my friends section of this website. That's all there really is to Vincent. I should not forget to mention the local businesses: "Smith Groceries", "BP" gas station, "Bullett's Home Video", Post Office, Bank and a whole bunch of churches (we are talking about the deep South). Now you know everything about Vincent, Alabama.
